Warranty Policy

1. Warranty Coverage

Modu-Shade warrants that all window treatment products sold and installed by Modu-Shade are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service conditions.

Standard Warranty Period

  • Motorized Shades & Motors: 5 Years
  • Manual Shades (Roller, Roman, Zebra, Solar, Dual, Cellular): 5 Years
  • Outdoor Shades: 3 Years
  • Fabrics & Materials: 5 Years (fabric fading excluded unless specified by manufacturer)
  • Installation Workmanship: 1 Year from installation date

Warranty period begins on the date of installation or delivery, whichever occurs first.

2. What Is Covered

The warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Mechanical or operational failure under normal use
  • Motor malfunction (excluding power surges or improper wiring)
  • Hardware defects (brackets, clutches, rollers)
  • Installation-related issues reported within the workmanship warranty period

3. What Is NOT Covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Fabric fading, discoloration, or texture changes due to sunlight or environment
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, or improper operation
  • Unauthorized modifications or repairs
  • Electrical issues caused by power surges, improper wiring, or non-Modu-Shade components
  • Water, moisture, mold, or humidity damage
  • Acts of nature (fire, flood, storm, earthquake)
  • Commercial misuse unless explicitly approved in writing

4. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must:

  • Operate shades according to provided instructions
  • Keep shades clean and properly maintained
  • Avoid forcing or overloading motorized systems
  • Allow Modu-Shade or authorized technicians to perform any service or repair

Failure to comply may void the warranty.

5. Warranty Claim Process

  1. Customer contacts Modu-Shade via phone or email
  2. Proof of purchase and installation date required
  3. Photos/videos of the issue must be provided
  4. Internal review and inspection (on-site if necessary)
  5. Modu-Shade determines repair, replacement, or adjustment

6. Warranty Resolution

At Modu-Shade’s discretion:

  • Repair of defective product
  • Replacement of part or full product
  • Store credit (if replacement unavailable)

Labor costs may apply outside the workmanship warranty period.

7. Replacement & Lead Times

  • Replacement products follow standard production lead times

  • Color or fabric matching is not guaranteed due to dye lot variations
  • Discontinued products may be replaced with comparable alternatives

8. Transferability

This warranty is:

  • Non-transferable
  • Valid only for the original purchaser
  • Applies only at the original installation location

9. Limitation of Liability

Modu-Shade shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Property damage beyond the product itself
  • Delays due to supplier or manufacturer issues

10. Internal Notes (Staff Use Only)

  • Always verify installation date before approving claims
  • Confirm whether issue is product-related or user-related
  • Document all service visits and customer communication
  • Motor warranties may be subject to manufacturer approval
